What are some common challenges faced by professionals in contract automation roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in contract automation often encounter challenges such as integrating new automation tools with existing legacy systems, ensuring data accuracy, and managing change among stakeholders unfamiliar with digital processes. Addressing these issues typically involves collaborating closely with IT teams, providing training to end-users, and regularly reviewing workflows to identify bottlenecks. Staying updated on best practices and fostering open communication across departments can also help smooth the transition to automated contract management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in contract automation?

To excel in Contract Automation, a strong understanding of contract law, process optimization, and document management is essential, often supported by a background in legal studies or business administration. Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software, automation tools like DocuSign or Ironclad, and workflow systems is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are vital soft skills for managing complex agreements and collaborating across teams. These competencies are crucial for streamlining contract processes, reducing risk, and ensuring compliance in fast-paced business environments.

What is contract automation?

Contract automation is the use of software and digital tools to streamline and simplify the process of creating, managing, and executing contracts. It helps organizations reduce manual work, minimize errors, and speed up contract cycles by automating repetitive tasks such as drafting, reviewing, and signing documents. This technology is especially useful for legal, procurement, and sales teams who handle large volumes of contracts. By automating contracts, businesses can improve compliance, increase efficiency, and gain better visibility into their contractual obligations.

Build Hands-On Experience With Robotics and Automation Technology

Are you looking for a hands-on technical role where you can support robotics, automation, and live production technology in the field? This opportunity gives you the chance to work directly inside a fulfillment center environment, helping test and support new automation systems before they are deployed more broadly.

You’ll partner with onsite operations, engineering, maintenance, hardware, software, and remote technical teams to troubleshoot issues, track performance, document findings, and keep testing activities moving forward.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Competitive pay at $35/hour
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Hands-on robotics and automation exposure
  • Opportunity to support new technology launches in a live operational setting
  • Cross-functional collaboration with technical, operations, and engineering teams
  • Great fit for candidates with robotics, manufacturing, logistics, automation, or technical support experience
What You’ll Do
  • Serve as an onsite technical point of contact for automation and robotics testing activities.
  • Support field testing of robotics and automation systems in a live fulfillment center environment.
  • Execute daily and per-shift test plans using defined procedures and project expectations.
  • Track, calculate, and report real-time metrics related to testing activity and system performance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues, software/tool concerns, and equipment performance challenges.
  • Investigate successes and failures across testing processes, tools, dashboards, and workflows.
  • Answer technical questions from onsite teams and remote stakeholders.
  • Coordinate testing efforts with operations, maintenance, hardware, software, and project teams.
  • Document technical issues in structured formats and escalate recurring problems to the appropriate teams.
  • Learn and work within proprietary tools used to support robotics and automation testing.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, patterns, and improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in team meetings and clearly communicate testing updates, needs, risks, and results.
  • Contribute to weekly reports and project communications.
  • Build strong onsite partnerships while representing the field technology testing team professionally.
What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates bring a mix of technical curiosity, hands-on troubleshooting ability, and strong communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, mechatronics, industrial engineering, operations management, IT, or a related technical field.
  • 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in engineering, robotics, automation, manufacturing, fulfillment, logistics, or a related technical support environment.
  • Experience supporting automated equipment, robotics, material handling systems, or production technology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware failures, software/tool issues, and automated equipment behavior.
  • Experience following test plans, documenting results, and identifying trends during testing.
  • Comfort tracking and reporting operational metrics using dashboards, testing tools, or structured reporting formats.
  • Experience documenting technical issues through ticketing, incident management, or issue-tracking systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how equipment behavior impacts production workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to both onsite and remote teams.
  • Ability to collaborate across operations, maintenance, hardware, software, and project teams.
  • Comfort working in an active production environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to stand for part of the shift, walk throughout a fulfillment center environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear required PPE such as composite-toe boots.
Preferred Experience
  • Autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms, sensors, computer vision-enabled systems, or AI-enabled automation.
  • Aerospace, automotive, fulfillment, logistics, or highly automated manufacturing environments.
  • New product introductions, field testing, pilot launches, or production technology deployments.
  • Working with remote engineering teams to triage and escalate hardware or software issues.
  • Familiarity with fulfillment center operations or robotics environments.
Training and Development

You’ll gain practical experience supporting robotics and automation testing in a real-world production environment. This role is a strong opportunity to build technical depth across troubleshooting, data reporting, field testing, equipment behavior, and cross-functional launch support.
