Responsibilities

This Position is Subject to Contract Award

OBXtek is staffing for an Accountant. The Accountant is responsible for the full range of financial management support and accounting activities associated with contract execution under the RS3 task order. This individual ensures compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), DCAA requirements, and accepted accounting standards. The Accountant maintains all accounting records, prepares required reporting, and provides cost analysis in support of contract/program management and Government requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile accounts in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal regulations.
  • Track, process, and review accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for contract-related project accounts.
  • Prepare, review, and submit financial and cost reports, including incurred cost submissions, cost vouchers, and task order-specific deliverables as required (e.g., DI-FNCL-80912).
  • Support all DCAA/Contracting Officer audits and internal reviews.
  • Ensure strict compliance with FAR/DFARS cost principles and RS3/DoD billing policies.
  • Provide cost analysis and recommendations to management to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Support timely, accurate electronic submission of invoices via Wide Area Workflow (WAWF).
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails to support all expenditures and cost transfers.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Subcontractors, and the government, responding promptly to data calls.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience: At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience, with 4 years supporting cost reimbursable government contracts (defense, Army, or DoD experience preferred)]
  • Certification: CPA or CGFM Required
  • Clearance: Active Secret or the required clearance
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in government contract accounting systems (e.g., Deltek, Costpoint, Unanet, QuickBooks GovCon).
    • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DCAA compliance.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Office Suite.
