The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to contribute to a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) will be responsible for managing highly complex, cross-organizational technical programs that impact both product and business for OCI. In addition, this specific role requires a passion for solving high-impact problems and the ability to jump into any in-flight project and get it on the rails. This is an extremely visible, executive-facing role, managing programs at the SVP level of OCI, with visibility and coordination across many executive levels and organizations in OCI.  

OCI Compute is looking for a high performing Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a background in cloud services, server technology, and software systems who can independently own and drive outcomes across OCI for high priority programs with significant business impact. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud infrastructure, operating systems, and compute services, and has familiarity with virtualization, CPU and GPU systems, as well as datacenter management and other scaled systems. The candidate needs the ability to think about business problems from the point of view of our customers, define strategies for programs, identify technical impacts on the organization as they relate to business requirements, drive delivery across service teams, effectively communicate project status and suggest changes to use company resources more efficiently, regularly participate in executive meetings to present progress, and share project information with executives and stakeholders accurately and effectively.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $90,100 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

  • Define program scope, including estimations for deliverables such as requirements and conceptual design tasks and related documentation 
  • Lead regularly scheduled status meeting with engineering teams, senior stakeholders, and executives; strong written and oral communication is a must
  • Manage communication across organizations and cross-functional teams 
  • Develop standard program deliverables; i.e. SOWs, Project Charters, Project Timelines 
  • Have strong ownership to manage projects from implementation to completion
  • Leverage AI tools to optimize processes and workstreams

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading complex technical / engineering programs, preferably in cloud infrastructure
  • 10+ years relevant work experience in program and project management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Telecommunications
  • Proven ability to effectively represent engineering perspectives to partner organizations, product teams, and executive leadership
  • Ability to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering staff at all levels including the executive level
  • Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills
  • Solid analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business need with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Ability to mentor junior TPMs
