How we LEAD:

Universal Music Group's Content Protection team has an exciting opportunity available for a Content Protection Representative, unlike any other, that offers a chance to play a pivotal role in combating IP (Intellectual Property) theft at the world's largest music company.

The Content Protection department provides support to all UMG (Universal Music Group) labels and business units worldwide, across multiple time zones. The environment is often fast-paced and allows for opportunities to work on a diverse array of projects related to the management of audio and video content, as well as many other areas of our digital and physical workstreams. This role will suit a dynamic individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for recorded music and technology.

As a Content Protection Representative,you will primarily be responsible for reviewing and assessing UMG content using a variety of internal and external technologies. You will also be trained in the physical, digital, and technical operations of the music business.


Bring your VIBE:

  • 0-1+ years' work experience in either Music industry or Digital Media, Entertainment, Technology, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with anti-piracy, copyright, or trademarks preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Significant understanding of digital technologies, especially music platforms and mobile apps.
  • Strong organizational skills including follow-through and execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • Passion for music and digital music platforms.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Fluency in Spanish or another language is a bonus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365 including Excel.
  • Experienced in working with large datasets and / or databases including SQL language.
  • Excellent presentation skills (e.g., PowerPoint) along with a willingness to speak publicly amongst peers and senior managers.

How you'll CREATE:

  • Assess & review online uses of UMG digital and physical assets (including publishing), to detect infringement of our rights.
  • Handling inquiries from our internal business units and labels (including Spanish-speaking labels).
  • Work with our international trade groups to enforce our rights.
  • Staying abreast of digital trends related to the recording industry.
