40% onsite/60% onsite. Mon/Tues in office but may shift as needed

Job Description:

The Digital Content Specialist will serve as a hands-on implementation lead for theย Nevada Secretary of Stateโ€™s elections Portal. This role involves executing critical updates to election information, candidate filings, and business services portals. You will work closely with internalย Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)ย from the Elections, Commercial Recordings, and Securities divisions to ensure the public receives timely, accurate, and Electionsย compliance information.ย 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Election Cycle Support:ย Execute rapid updates for theย 2026 Election Cycle, including posting candidate filing locations,ย voter registration deadlines, and polling place data.
  • Granicus Platform Management:ย Perform hands-on configuration and content entry using theย Granicus govAccess CMS, ensuring all pages utilize standard Nevada government templates.
  • SME Liaison:ย Translate complex legislative updates andย election regulationsย provided by the Elections Division into voter-friendly web content.
  • ADA & Language Access:ย Maintain strict adherence to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and ensure the availability of information in required languages (Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean).
  • Portal Integration:ย Coordinate content updates related toย Project Orionย (the new Business Licensing Portal) to ensure a seamless user experience between the main site and specialized applications.ย

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Platform Expertise:ย Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience withย Granicus govAccessย or a similar enterprise-level government CMS.
  • Nevada Election Knowledge:ย Familiarity with Nevada-specific election procedures, such as the Effective Absentee System for Elections (EASE) andย Voter Roll Maintenanceย protocols.
  • Compliance Rigor:ย Proven ability to manage content underย Nevada State Web Style Standardsย and federal ADA laws.
  • Attention to Detail:ย Absolute accuracy in handlingย important candidate datesย and disclosure reporting requirements where errors could have legal implications.ย 
  • UI/UX Design:ย 3+ years proven experience with a strong understanding of user research, interaction design, and visual design principles.

  • Duration:ย Typically aligns with the State of Nevada fiscal cycle (through June of 2027).
  • Work Environment:ย Coordination with elections SMEโ€™s and SOS leadership-usually 2 days in office-Mon/Tues with some flexibility according to needs.
