CIMR Consumer Insights Analyst (Consumer Insight Market Research)

Location: 5 days per week onsite in Bergen County, NJ


*Candidates must have experience setting up panels/focus groups, conducting quantitative/qualitative research, making data recommendations to clients, and working in a flavors/fragrance company.


Our client, a leading global flavor & fragrance company, is seeking a Consumer Insights Analyst to join their team!


Essential Job Functions:

  • Self-starter with the ability to think creatively while also executing with strong attention to detail
  • Some knowledge of quantitative techniques (survey design, questionnaire development, data analysis) and foundational qualitative methodologies
  • Ability to identify consumer unmet needs and translate them into opportunities
  • Curiosity to explore and adopt new, agile methodologies (e.g., social listening, AI tools) to expand capabilities and continuously improve approaches
  • Support and help lead future-forward innovation initiatives, including development, management and exploratory qualitative research
  • Leveraging different platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram) to identify trends and translate them into actionable insights and reports
  • Develop, manage, and maintain future-forward consumer panels


Core Research Executions & Operations

  • Support end-to-end execution of research studies, including:
  • Preparation of products and materials for testing (e.g., CLTs, HUTs, concept tests)
  • Survey programming, data entry, and platform management (e.g., Qualtrics, Toluna)
  • Fieldwork coordination and logistics
  • Run and manage small-scale quantitative and qualitative studies, ensuring quality and accuracy in execution
  • Perform data cleaning, validation, and basic analysis, ensuring data integrity before deeper insights are developed
  • Assist in coding qualitative responses and synthesizing findings
  • Support senior team members in fragrance testing methodologies (CLTs, HUTs, sensory evaluations) and learn best practices through hands-on involvement


Insights Development & Reporting

  • Translate data (quantitative, qualitative, and social listening) into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Develop reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, with increasing ownership over time
  • Support the CI team across projects as needed, including survey creation, analysis, and reporting


Collaboration & Mindset

  • Demonstrate agility and curiosity, with the ability to manage multiple projects across categories with a strong sense of urgency
  • Passion for fragrances and interest in home and personal care categories
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams (Marketing, R&D, Sales), contributing to a strong team environment
  • Balance innovation thinking with operational excellence, recognizing that strong execution is critical to delivering impactful insights


Skills

  • Working knowledge of marketing research methodologies and platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Toluna)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing data and research logistics
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written reports
  • Emerging ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Ability to design and support qualitative research to complement quantitative programs
  • Comfortable working with data sets (Excel, etc.)


Educational Qualifications & Competencies

  • BS in relevant fields (Consumer Insights, Marketing, Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology, Analytics required; MS preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint required)
  • Familiarity with statistical software (SPSS, SAS, or similar) is a plus
  • Curiosity and ability to learn new tools and platforms quickly
  • Preferred: ~3 years of experience in consumer insights or related field
  • Experience with panel management and/or social listening is a plus
