Job description

Single Source Technologies (SST), a Makino owned company, is the largest distributor of EDM Consumable products in North America.

Your Mission should you choose
The Consumable Sales Representative is responsible for the development of profitable sales of SST EDM Consumables and the lead generation of Makino EDM machine opportunities within assigned territory through contacts, inquiries, services, advertising and correspondence. This involves continuous development of current and potential users of company line of machine tool products, consumables and accessories. This position will cover the NY region.

What you'll do:
Make the Call – Initiate sales conversations and partner with Makino Sales Representatives to cross-promote machines.
Own Your Territory – Organize, plan, and execute strategic territory coverage.
Discover Opportunities – Identify and qualify leads by understanding your customers’ evolving needs.
Deliver Value – Prepare sales quotes, track shipments, and support procurement and forecast planning.
Keep It Clean – Maintain up-to-date, accurate records in our CRM.
What you will bring:
  • Valid driver’s license and a passion for hitting the road to meet clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office; bonus points for SalesForce or SAP experience.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaborative approach.
  • Collaborative team player with a proven ability to work closely with Makino Machine Sales Engineers and the Consumable Operations Group to foster a cohesive and results-driven team environment.
  • Ability to travel to cover assigned territory for maximum impact.
Education and Required Experience
  • Experience in industrial distribution or consumables? Even better! But it’s not required.
  • Previous experience developing sales territory and the ability to “close” the sale.
