Job Summary
This position will assist with executing various construction projects at Dolomite's fixed facilities. The individual will perform tasks associated with the construction crew including hand and power tool operation, heavy equipment operation, fabrication, and general labor. Also assist the construction supervisor and plant operations personnel with maintenance projects. Primarily work 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days a week, but will occasionally be required to work up to 14 hours per day, and 6 days a week. This position will include travelling between all Dolomite facilities in the Rochester, NY area. This work is conducted under direction of the Construction Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with executing various construction projects at Dolomite's fixed facilities
  • Perform construction activities including but not limited to site work, concrete construction, metal fabrication and erection, and general plant maintenance
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively with plant personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing
  • Recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to complete maintenance and plant improvement projects
  • Utilize computer software for purchasing requests, employee hour input, and email communication
  • Engage in good work procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety
  • Maintain and clean tools, equipment, or materials to ensure items are in usable condition
  • Participate in company safety rules, safety meetings and in tool box talks
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety policies

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A valid driver's license and reliable source of transportation
  • Construction/Fabrication experience preferred
  • Requires daytime & some weekend hours. Travel will be required inside the company's operational area
  • The employee will be required to walk several miles per day, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and traveling over irregular terrain
  • Some tasks involve prolonged periods of standing and exposure to noise or weather
  • The employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to: Fall Protection, Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Padlocks for Lockout/Tagout, Safety (hard toe) Shoes
