Job description

The Construction Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in Suffolk’s Mission Control model—our transformational, analytics-driven strategy to drive project excellence across cost, schedule and safety. This role combines construction operations, data analytics, and technology to identify emerging project risks, translate data into actionable insights, and support timely intervention across the portfolio. The Analyst will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, functional groups, and the Data team to turn complex project data into clear, practical actions.

This is a high-growth opportunity for someone who understands construction, is curious about data and technology, and wants to directly influence project outcomes.

  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to identify early indicators of project risk across the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Analyze cost, schedule, and safety trends to develop performance and predictive insights using project data, benchmarks, and technology tools.
  • Support Mission Control through leading-indicator dashboards, analytics, and executive reporting.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for Project Managers, Superintendents, and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Data and Operations teams to develop and deploy predictive analytics and construction technology solutions, including Tripwire 2.0, Schedule and Financial Analytics, and other emerging tools.
  • Participate in onsite project reviews and deep dives to connect data-driven insights with field conditions and project execution.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve how Suffolk uses data, analytics, and technology to manage project risk and performance.

  • Predictive Analytics & Technology: Collaborate with the Data team to build foundational capabilities for Suffolk’s predictive and prescriptive analytics framework, including dynamic dashboards and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Executive Reporting Modernization: Assess and reimagine Suffolk’s executive reporting portfolio to streamline reporting, improve data flow and insights, and establish a scalable future-state model. Partner with Regional Operations and Data teams to implement the future state, including opportunities to leverage AI for executive insights and action tracking.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Data Analytics, Finance/Accounting, or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience, preferably in construction operations, project controls, or data center construction.
  • Construction experience in roles such as Project Engineer, Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Controls is preferred.
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, and Oracle; strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working Knowledge on SQL, Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive-level insights.
  • Strong interest in predictive analytics, AI, construction technology, and data-driven decision-making
  • Willingness to learn and adopt emerging construction technology, including SmartPM, Schedule Validator, ALICE, and Vena.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration experience; able to work with national and regional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with flexibility to work long hours as needed.
