We are growing and in need of Construction Laborer for our VSS International, Inc.

The ideal candidate will be a safe, hardworking, team-oriented person who is ok with working outdoors on road construction crews and some travel.

Responsibilitiesย for this position include setting up construction equipment, tearing down construction equipment & prepping for transportation and various operator andย labor duties during of a road construction operation. Some other duties could include preventative maintenance and daily inspections.

Essential Duties

  • Control traffic through work zone safely
  • Hold Flagger Certification Credentials
  • Communicate continuously with other employees to assure safety of general public in work zone areas.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of construction equipment
  • Responsible for loading and unloading of traffic control and other construction equipment
  • Complete timecards in a timely manner assuring completeness and accuracy of same
  • Qualified individuals will drive class A or B vehicle between the construction site and the stockpile keeping the equipment loaded with material
  • Responsible for maintaining professional relationship with public and establishing ongoing good public relations
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position
  • General construction labor is required for all positions
  • Operation of equipment if qualified
  • Other duties as assigned

ย Qualifications

  • Must have good communications skills both written and verbal to interact with internal and external drivers and customers.
  • Have a current driverโ€™s license in good standing (Class A preferred).
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communications skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to company goals.
  • Must be capable of functioning under fast paced stressful working conditions within live traffic
  • Prior pavement preservation experience is required
