Job description

Construction Accounting Manager

Build Something. Own It. Make an Impact.

Are you the type of accounting professional who thrives in a growing business where your ideas matter, your voice is heard, and no two days look the same?

We're partnering with a privately held construction company that is investing heavily in its future and looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to take ownership of the accounting function. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a large team or hide behind layers of management—it's an opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, creating structure, improving processes, and becoming a key business partner to leadership.

If you're entrepreneurial, resourceful, and love wearing multiple hats, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Own the day-to-day accounting function from start to finish
  • Manage month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, general ledger, AP/AR oversight, and cash flow
  • Lead all construction accounting activities including:
  • Job Costing
  • Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting
  • AIA Billing
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Project Financial Reporting
  • Partner closely with operations and project teams to ensure project profitability
  • Develop better processes, reporting, and internal controls as the company continues to scale
  • Collaborate with external CPA partners on tax and year-end activities
  • Help build the accounting infrastructure for the next stage of company growth

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of construction accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Job Costing
  • WIP Reporting
  • AIA Billing
  • Percentage of Completion Accounting
  • Experience using QuickBooks (Enterprise preferred)
  • Comfortable being a one-person accounting department
  • Proven ability to build processes, improve workflows, and create structure
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems instead of waiting for direction
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the business

The Right Person Is...

  • Scrappy and resourceful
  • Self-motivated and accountable
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Hands-on and willing to jump into whatever needs to get done
  • Process-minded but practical
  • Excited by growth and helping build something bigger

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

  • Salary: $100,000–$120,000
  • Performance Bonus
  • Excellent health benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Opportunity to build an accounting department—not just maintain one
  • Direct exposure to executive leadership
  • Fast-paced environment where your work has visible impact
  • Long-term growth as the company continues to expand

If you're looking for another corporate accounting role with layers of bureaucracy, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a place where you can take ownership, create structure, influence the business, and grow alongside an ambitious leadership team, please apply!
