Job description

Help Jax promote our brand and what makes us special in this community. At JAX Mercantile Co., we are passionate about the satisfaction of working hard, the joy in outdoor adventure, and the importance of conservation. Join our local, family-owned company as a Marketing Assistant or Intern at our JAX Support Center location in Laporte, CO.
Our Marketing Assistant will help the Marketing Team demonstrate our excellent customer service, local expertise, and quality merchandise at fair prices. Responsibilities include the following:
  • Create and edit basic graphics for social media, posters, and website updates
  • Resize, format and optimize images and marketing materials
  • Assist with presentation deck formatting and visual consistency
  • Update templates and branded collateral following establishes guidelines
  • Support promotional event coordination and logistics
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed

All JAX employees are expected to provide top-notch customer service (internal and external), and step up to do additional office, organizing, cleaning or reporting work as needed.
This is not a remote position. Work is based out of our Support Center in Laporte, CO and will require occasional trips to our stores for content creation.
Our ideal candidate is currently pursuing or has completed studies in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field. Additional knowledge, skills or abilities include:
  • Knowledge of current graphic design (and related) software applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Basic proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
  • Proficient in typography
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing concepts
  • Copywriting and proofing experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and communicate well via phone or email
  • Engaging and positive
  • Attention to detail

Schedule Requirements:
  • Generally, M-F business hours, 10-20 hours a week
  • Some flexibility with schedule available

Pay Range: $16.00 hourly
