Position Summary

The Merchandise Lead assists the Merchandise Manager in overseeing the merch operations for concerts and events at the Ford Idaho Center.

Shifts can be;

  • 6-8 hours
  • 8-12 hours
  • 12-18 hours.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

The Ford Idaho Center is the premier multi-event complex in the Pacific Northwest. Attend a concert, convention, sporting event, trade show, or an equestrian show, and you will be treated to a first-class experience.

Responsibilities
  • The Merchandise Lead assists the Merchandise Manager in overseeing the successful operation of artist merchandise for all concerts & events selling merch
  • Aid the Merchandise Manager to maximize space, set up queues, and ensure all merchandise areas are safe, clean, and well organized
  • Cooperate with the Merchandise Manager to maintain all venue-owned merchandising equipment & POS iPads to ensure proper working condition.
  • Support successful sales operations by hiring, training, and mentoring additional merchandise sellers as needed to ensure an exceptional experience for all guests and artist representatives
  • Ensure team compliance with Ford Idaho Center policies and procedures.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, needed repairs, and customer feedback to the Merchandise Manager during the course of an event.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities of a Merchandise Seller.
  • Helps set up/tear down merch stands with other sellers
  • Maintains accurate counts when selling merch and handling cash
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills; friendly, courteous & respectful with patrons, staff and tour representatives
  • Works well under pressure, able to get patrons through lines quickly and efficiently with loud noise from concerts and shows.
  • Team player, able to work well with a team of merch sellers in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work outdoors during summer amphitheater season in hot weather.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Merchandise Manager and venue management
Qualifications
  • Possess outstanding written, verbal, and documentation skills
  • Be proficient in professional communication standards

  • Ability to work with the public and possess conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to lead a team; previous lead experience a plus.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Be professional and courteous with a positive attitude
  • Ability to exercise composure and handle multiple priorities in fast-paced and potentially stressful situations
  • Ability to problem-solve and quickly and effectively diffuse problematic situations
  • Possess excellent sales skills
  • Proficiency with Google Suite including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets and/or the Microsoft Word equivalents to complete all work
  • Proficient in handling cash and processing payments on a variety of processors
  • Familiarity with atVenu preferred but not required
  • Must be knowledgeable or willing to learn to work with touch screen systems, payment processors, computers, money counting machines, and other office or event equipment as necessary
  • Previous experience in a Merchandise role is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects as needed.
  • This position will require a commitment to be on-site for a minimum of 75% of all concerts & events selling merch. This includes nights and weekends throughout the year as needed, as well as show days to set up stands and count in/out merchandise before and after shows.
