Job description

A seasonal, part-time Wine Tent Cashier job in Woodinville, WA is available at Chateau Ste. Michelle.  As a Wine Tent Cashier, you will serve as an ambassador of the company, exemplifying excellence in customer service.  You set the tone for the winery experience by ensuring a smooth check-out process for all guests.

This is a seasonal, part-time hourly role that is eligible for tips.  This seasonal opportunity generally runs from May through September, depending on business needs.  This role requires availability in the evenings and on weekends to support our Summer Concert Series.

Wine Tent Cashier job responsibilities include:

  • Greet all arriving and departing guests warmly to create a positive first and last impression.
  • Provide efficient and hospitable service to all visitors and guests.
  • Ensuring safety of guests by verifying IDs and overseeing consumption.
  • Assist with opening wine bottles for guests.
  • Enhance sales for wine, concert merchandise, chairs, blankets, etc.
  • Operate POS/registers, handle cash, credit, or check transactions for customers.
  • Wine tent line/crowd control.
  • General housekeeping duties to ensure the appearance and cleanliness of the wine tent are up to or exceed standards.
  • Work together with Stock team to guarantee inventory on ice, cold wine, and other miscellaneous supplies.
  • Collaborate with Wine Cocktail Tent Cashiers to provide cross-coverage support as needed to the Wine Cocktail Tent to ensure smooth guest experience.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the tasting room management team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • MAST 12 Class Permit and Food Handler’s Permit required.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of wine.
  • Cash register experience preferred with proficiency in Point of Sales (POS) systems.
  • Customer service experience required (retail/hospitality is preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, customer service skills, sales skills, and the ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and available to work varied hours.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

      Your Compensation:  

      $17.13 - $20.05 per hour based upon relevant experience.
