This position is responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models that serve as the foundation for manufacturing, construction, and engineering projects. The drafter collaborates closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that all drawings meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex design documents are essential to successfully deliver high-quality drawings that facilitate seamless project execution. Ultimately, this role supports the entire project lifecycle by providing clear, comprehensive, and up-to-date documentation that drives efficiency and reduces errors in production and construction phases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CAD Drafter using Autodesk AutoCAD or similar software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical drafting or CAD certification program is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software.
  • Knowledge of building codes, manufacturing processes, or construction methodologies relevant to the industry.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced engineering, architectural, or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models using Autodesk software based on sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into design revisions.
  • Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Maintain organized documentation and version control of all CAD files to ensure traceability and easy retrieval.
  • Assist in troubleshooting design issues and provide technical support during the manufacturing or construction process.

Skills:

The required skills enable the drafter to efficiently create precise and detailed CAD drawings that form the backbone of engineering and architectural projects. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD allows the drafter to translate complex design concepts into clear visual representations that can be universally understood by project teams. Preferred skills such as familiarity with Autodesk Revit or Inventor enhance the ability to work on 3D modeling tasks, providing more comprehensive design solutions. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for interpreting project requirements and incorporating feedback from engineers and architects, ensuring alignment with project goals. Additionally, organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for managing multiple drawing versions and maintaining documentation integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
