Class Summary
The Computer Lab Assistant I is the first level in a three-level instructional lab support series. The Computer Lab Assistant is responsible for providing students, faculty, staff and community members a safe and comfortable learning environment with access to computers, printing, copying and scanning. The Computer Lab Assistant I is responsible for ensuring visitors to the lab sign-in, are able to print and answers questions regarding computer skills, LMS, and Microsoft Office. They are also responsible for conducting basic computer trouble shooting in all open labs on campus and computer-based classrooms as needed.
The Computer Lab Assistant will be expected to work with integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, discretion, and to demonstrate the characteristics of teamwork, inclusiveness, calmness, and adaptability to a broad range of issues, people, and situations. They will be flexible in order to best meet the demands of the students and the needs of the department.

Job Duties
• Ensure all visitors to the lab sign-in and monitor utilization of the lab;
• Address lab visitors' questions and help them print, copy and scan;
• Troubleshooting hardware problems and submit work orders as needed;
• Identify and stay abreast of contemporary trends in lab/classroom technology;
• Maintaining a professional learning environment for the students;
• Monitor supplies in the lab;
• Be proactive, creative, and accurate, as well as to work independently as a departmental member.
• Perform additional related job duties as required.
