Job description

As a Survey CAD Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Houston, TX office you'll demonstrate excellent attention to detail throughout the survey process to assist a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor or Survey Project Manager to prepare topographic survey maps, boundary surveys, subdivision plans, and various exhibits and existing conditions base drawing. You will also use construction plans and CAD files to prepare the survey field crews to perform construction staking. You will also build, check and modify digital terrain models (3D site models) for construction stakeout and machine control guidance. The majority of your time will be spent in the office, but occasional field work may occur.


  • Experience processing survey data and building 3D site models with Trimble Business Center
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
  • Experience in construction staking and construction layout
  • Experience conducting field surveys a plus
  • Experience processing aerial photography and terrestrial or aerial LiDAR a plus.
