PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Product Manager is responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, lifecycle management, and business performance of assigned Warren Rupp product lines. Through Voice of Customer (VOC), market analysis, industry knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration, this role identifies growth opportunities, develops business cases, defines product requirements, and supports portfolio decisions that deliver customer value, profitable growth, and market leadership. Serving as the primary link between customer needs, market requirements, and business objectives, the Product Manager partners with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to successfully develop, commercialize, and manage products throughout their lifecycle. This role establishes product priorities, evaluates new product investment opportunities, and optimizes portfolio performance while leveraging knowledge of industrial fluid handling applications and experience within chemical, mining, oil & gas, food & pharma, or related industrial markets. By combining customer insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis, the Product Manager develops strategies that strengthen Warren Rupp's market position and support sustainable business growth.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy & Product Line Management

  • Develop and execute product line strategies and roadmaps for assigned product lines, leveraging market knowledge, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform portfolio and lifecycle decisions.
  • Manage the product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, including new product introductions, product enhancements, portfolio optimization, and end-of-life planning.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, industry developments, and business performance to identify growth opportunities, emerging applications, and potential risks.
  • Monitor product line performance and recommend actions to improve growth, profitability, market position, and customer satisfaction.

Voice of Customer & Market Insights

  • Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives and engage with distributors, end users, and industry stakeholders to understand customer needs, application challenges, emerging technologies, and market trends.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer processes, purchasing drivers, and industry dynamics within target industrial markets.
  • Translate customer and market insights into product requirements, business cases, and product roadmap recommendations.
  • Represent Warren Rupp at customer events, trade shows, industry associations, and technical conferences.

New Product Development & Innovation

  • Evaluate and prioritize new product opportunities, making recommendations for investment based on customer needs, market potential, and strategic alignment.
  • Develop business cases, product requirements, value propositions, and success criteria for new product initiatives.
  • Partner with Project Management and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution, validation, and commercialization of new products through a phase gate process.
  • Provide product leadership throughout development, making product decisions that balance customer needs, technical feasibility, competitive positioning, and business objectives.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to align product strategies, priorities, and business objectives.
  • Monitor key business metrics including revenue, profitability, market share, and new product performance.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve product and business objectives without direct authority.
  • Support Sales and Marketing with product expertise, customer opportunities, competitive analysis, product-related communications, and other day-to-day business needs.
  • Support strategic planning, portfolio reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Business Development, or related commercial/technical roles within the pump, fluid handling, process equipment, or related industrial equipment industries.
  • Foundational knowledge of pump hydraulics, design, and applications in industrial and manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting products, customers, or applications within chemical, mining, oil & gas, food & pharma, or similar industrial markets.
  • Proven success managing products through the full lifecycle, from concept through commercialization and lifecycle management, within a global business environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction across manufacturing, warehouse, testing, and industrial customer environments.
  • Frequent use of computers, business systems, and standard office equipment.
  • For onsite candidates, travel to customer sites, distributors, and industry events up to 20%, including domestic and international travel. For remote candidates, up to 40% travel, both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work effectively within a global matrix organization and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $88,200.00 - $132,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
