A Brief Overview
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor embedded within the BI team, responsible for building reliable analytics solutions and supporting BI Analysts. This position involves collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, and BI analysts to support the delivery of BI products and reporting data pipelines. This role is focused on ensuring data is modeled, tested, and delivered in a way that creates efficient, scalable, and trusted solutions while delivering actionable insights to support data-driven decision making.
What You Will Do
  • Support the development and maintenance of BI assets in the central data hub; optimize SQL, Tableau, and data models; and collaborate with Data Engineers on ingestion, transformations, and Snowflake/dbt modeling using GitHub based CI/CD processes.
  • Troubleshoot data quality, lineage, and performance issues while building automated data quality checks and monitoring BI product and pipeline performance to recommend data driven improvements.
  • Design and build Tableau dashboards that deliver actionable insights and support strategic business goals.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, refine requests, and ensure dashboards and BI products are performant, action oriented, and broadly impactful.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's Degree in analytics, computer science, statistics, or related field Preferred
  • 4-6 years Experience in BI, analytics engineering, or analytics-focused roles Required
  • 4-6 years Developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing advanced SQL logic Required
  • 4-6 years Experience with data visualization tools Required
  • 1-3 years Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses Required
  • 1-3 years Experience leveraging Python for data analysis and pipeline development Required
  • 1-3 years Hands-on experience with dbt Required
  • 1-3 years Experience using GitHub for version control and CI/CD Required
  • 1-3 years Experience with Fivetran Preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in industry-leading BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. (High proficiency)

  • Strong understanding of the analyst's workflow as it relates to both structured and unstructured datasets. (High proficiency)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with core SQL concepts, including window functions, CTEs, nested queries, and other similar techniques. (High proficiency)
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and relational databases. (High proficiency)
  • Experience transforming and analyzing data at all layers of the warehouse (i.e., staging to mart layer) (High proficiency)

  • Experience contributing to a BI semantic layer and key data marts using tools like dbt, Snowflake, Fivetran (Medium proficiency)
