Job description

Role

In this role, you'll manage Intrinsic's Compensation programs, which span external offer compensation, annual compensation planning, promotions, internal transfers, and recognition programs, as well as the potential special projects such as M&A events. You'll also build out our nascent Analytics function, making data and insights more accessible to leaders and decision-makers. As Intrinsic grows, you'll further develop our total rewards philosophy to meet our evolving needs as a more mature group within Google. Additionally, given our small team size, this role will flex as a general program manager and operations analyst across the People space as needed.

How your work moves the mission forward
  • Deliver Compensation Programs - Deliver our annual compensation planning program in alignment with our pay-for-performance philosophy.
  • Own Compensation Operations - Run compensation operations for geo-transfers, role transfers, promotions, recognition programs, and other ad-hoc needs. Contribute to job architecture decisions as our business evolves.
  • Lead Offer Negotiation Strategy - Partner with Recruiting and Finance to enhance our offer compensation strategy that ensures we continue to win top talent at a sustainable cost.
  • Drive Insights through People Analytics - Identify where decisions could be helped with more data, and then provide that data in simple and accurate ways. More generally, ensure we're utilizing our existing infrastructure, systems, and tools to the best of our ability. Advocate for and drive improvements where possible.
  • Contribute to Operational Excellence - Contribute to the team's broader operational excellence in your day-to-day work. Create automated audits and other checks to ensure data integrity.
Skills you will need to be successful
  • 8 years of experience in Compensation in a high-growth environment.
  • Mission-first, user-first attitude and approach.
  • Clear and direct communication.
  • Analytical skills (in Google Sheets or similar) that will allow you to independently run compensation programs and operations, turn data into insights, and separate signal from noise.
  • Advanced analytical skills (in SQL or similar) that enable you to build dashboards and automated reporting for the compensation function and the broader People Team.
  • Well-organized with high attention to detail, ensuring compensation data is always correct.
Skills that will differentiate your candidacy
  • Knowledge of compensation norms and regulations across the United States, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland, and Canada.
  • Familiarity with best-in-class tools, vendors, and partners across the Compensation space (e.g. Pave, Radford).
  • Ability to benchmark compensation data, using tools such as Radford and Pave.
