Job description

Position: Community Integration Specialist

Company Overview:

The Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD) is a non-profit organization that serves the community in the greater Detroit area. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Community Integration Specialist to join our team for a temporary 4-month project. 

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement strategies to promote community integration and engagement

- Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to foster collaboration and partnerships

- Plan and organize events and activities that promote cultural exchange and understanding

- Conduct outreach to diverse groups within the Muslim community, including youth, women, and new immigrants

- Provide support and resources to individuals and families in need, connecting them with relevant services and programs

- Collaborate with other ICD team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of efforts

- Monitor and evaluate the success of community integration initiatives and make recommendations for improvement

- Maintain accurate records and reports of community engagement activities

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach and engagement

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups

- Proven ability to plan and organize events and activities

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software

- Fluency in Arabic 

Contract Details:

This is a temporary 4-month project with the possibility of extension. The Community Integration Specialist will work part-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
