Job description

Job Title: Communication and SCADA Technician Location: Pearl City, Hawaii Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $30.74/hr Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on the Communication and SCADA equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all maintenance procedures and instructions including safety, quality, and environmental procedures
  • Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet service availability requirements
  • Implement and follow-up on procedures and rules for service, repair, and maintenance of the equipment
  • Oversee the operations and correct functioning of the Communications systems and central equipment to meet performance requirements in the contract
  • Periodically download communication, video, and voice log files; analyze log files to troubleshoot problems or provide predictive maintenance
  • Perform troubleshooting, identification, and resolution of system and subsystem faults to support field technicians
  • Complete operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required
  • Perform routine, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, and proper maintenance on assigned central Communication equipment, following schematics, manuals, and manufacturer instructions
  • Ensure availability of materials, hand tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities
  • Identify failure trends to prevent impact on fleet availability
  • Liaise and supervise supplier staff performing maintenance works
  • Conduct inspections and acceptance of equipment
  • Enter information into the MMIS system
  • Perform related duties as requested by the Manager, including shift rotation, weekend, and holiday work typical of major infrastructure projects and transit systems
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Electronics Engineering
  • At least 3 years’ experience in preventive maintenance of technical systems
  • Expert knowledge of communication systems
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of system faults
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and environmental procedures
  • Ability to work in shift rotations, including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills for liaising with suppliers and team members
