Job description

We are a global digital agency comprised of strategists, creatives, media experts, data scientists, and engineers driven by one common purpose — accelerate business growth through marketing and digital transformation. Named a top 3% Google Premier Partner and recognized by Inc. 5000 and Adweek’s 75 Fastest Growing Companies, we’re constantly looking for “A” players to join our team.

The rapid growth is attributed to our strongest asset — our people. Our teams are highly collaborative and work closely with each client to set clear goals and objectives so that we can deliver exceptional results. Mindgruve is a place where every opinion is valued. Not only will you be empowered to contribute ideas, but you will also play a key role in the execution and driving success for brands across a variety of industries. Sound fun? Perfect — you’ll fit right in.

As a Senior Director of Integrated Communications, you will serve as a primary strategic advisor to key clients, ensuring brand communications directly drive business results. You will partner with executive stakeholders and agency teams to embed communications strategy into multi-channel marketing campaigns from inception. By seamlessly connecting earned, owned, paid, social, influencer, and experiential channels, you will build cohesive brand stories that boost reputation, drive engagement, and deliver measurable impact.

What You'll Do Here:

Strategic Communications Leadership

  • Serve as the senior communications strategist across key client relationships.
  • Advise CMOs, corporate communications leaders, and executive teams on how brand communications can drive revenue growth and business outcomes.
  • Develop integrated communications strategies that align with business objectives, audience insights, and marketing priorities.
  • Ensure communications planning is embedded into campaign strategy from inception—not layered on after creative development.
  • Translate complex business challenges into compelling brand narratives that resonate across stakeholder audiences.

Integrated Campaign Strategy

  • Partner with Strategy, Creative, Media, Social, Influencer, CRM, Analytics, and Performance Marketing teams to ensure communications is fully integrated throughout the customer journey.
  • Build core messaging frameworks that maintain brand consistency while flexing naturally across different channels and audiences.
  • Lead strategic communications planning across key initiatives, including:
    • Brand & Product: Brand launches, repositioning, and product introductions.
    • Reputation & Leadership: Corporate storytelling, executive thought leadership, and trust-building programs.
    • Integrated Marketing: Consumer and B2B campaigns, cultural moments, and influencer partnerships across paid, earned, shared, and owned media.
  • Serve as executive communications counselor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate strategic workshops, messaging sessions, and communications planning engagements.
  • Present recommendations to executive leadership with confidence and clarity.
  • Identify communications opportunities that strengthen broader marketing initiatives.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships that expand Mindgruve's strategic influence.

Brand Narrative & Positioning

  • Lead development of brand messaging architectures and communication frameworks.
  • Define differentiated positioning that connects business strategy with audience needs.
  • Guide executive visibility and thought leadership programs.
  • Ensure consistency across earned, paid, owned, and social communications.

Agency Integration

  • Champion collaboration across every agency discipline.
  • Educate internal teams on the strategic value of communications within integrated marketing.
  • Help account teams identify where communications can create additional client value.
  • Contribute communications expertise to integrated planning sessions and new business opportunities.
  • Support agency business development through strategic communications leadership.
  • Participate in pitches, workshops, and executive presentations.
  • Develop new communications offerings aligned with emerging trends in AI, creator marketing, reputation management, and integrated media.
  • Help evolve Mindgruve's communications practice as a strategic differentiator.
We Need a Person With:
  • 12+ years of strategy experience in integrated marketing or brand communications within an advertising agency, brand consultancy, or global holding company creative agency.
  • Demonstrated success serving as a senior strategic advisor to Fortune 500 and enterprise clients.
  • Deep understanding of how communications drives integrated marketing across paid, earned, owned, shared, social, influencer, experiential, and executive communications.
  • Experience developing brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and integrated communications strategies that support measurable business objectives.
  • Proven ability to facilitate executive workshops, lead strategic planning sessions, and influence senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect communications strategy to growth, reputation, customer engagement, and business performance.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including brand strategy, creative, media, social, analytics, CRM, and performance marketing.
  • Outstanding storytelling, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience contributing to new business pursuits, agency growth, and strategic client development.
  • Curious, collaborative, and energized by emerging trends shaping the future of brand communications, including AI, creator ecosystems, and evolving consumer behaviors.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Additionally, for eligible full-time employees, we offer a competitive benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance; a flexible spending account; voluntary life and accident plans; and a 401(k) retirement plan with matching. We have six office locations in the US: San Diego, California, Los Angeles, California, Covington, Kentucky, Denver, Colorado, Nashville, Tennessee and Charleston, South Carolina. We're seeking local candidates (or those open to relocation) who are able to work collaboratively with us in one of our office's; however, based on business needs and unique job functions, some roles may be eligible for remote work. (Bonus points if you’re bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese.)

Mindgruve is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Thought Leadership from the Brightest Minds in the Industry .
