Position Summary

The Operations Supervisor reports to the Assistant Operations Manager and serves as a key on-the-ground leader responsible for supporting daily campus operations and ensuring exceptional execution across programs, events, food and beverage service, and guest experiences.

This role directly supervises Operations Support Associates within Production and Common Grounds Café and is responsible for maintaining service standards, supporting team development, and ensuring operational readiness across campus. The Operations Supervisor works alongside the team, actively contributing to daily operations while providing leadership, direction, and accountability.

Success in this role requires a strong hospitality mindset, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a willingness to lead from the front during both routine operations and high-demand periods.

What You'll Lead & Own

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to Operations Support Associates
  • Assign work, prioritize tasks, and ensure operational consistency across shifts
  • Lead by example while fostering accountability, teamwork, and service excellence
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of Operations team members
  • Deliver real-time coaching and performance feedback while partnering with leadership on employee development and corrective action when necessary
  • Assist with workforce planning and staffing allocation to support changing business demands

Campus Operations & Guest Experience

  • Serve as a visible operational leader during assigned shifts, particularly when managers are unavailable
  • Support the successful execution of programs, classes, retreats, and special events
  • Attend planning meetings and utilize internal planning documents to anticipate operational needs
  • Build positive relationships with guests, faculty, and staff while proactively addressing concerns and resolving issues
  • Ensure guests experience a welcoming, safe, clean, and well-prepared environment throughout their stay
  • Support opening and closing procedures to ensure campus readiness and operational continuity

Production & Event Operations

  • Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of meeting spaces, learning environments, and event venues
  • Work directly alongside Operations Support Associates during high-volume periods and staffing shortages
  • Coordinate daily operational priorities using banquet event orders (BEOs) and other planning tools
  • Ensure meeting and event spaces meet organizational standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation
  • Maintain organization and inventory of operational equipment and storage areas

Common Grounds Café & Food & Beverage Operations

  • Oversee daily Common Grounds Café operations and guest service standards
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and responsible beverage service requirements
  • Support point-of-sale operations and ensure accurate guest transactions
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for food and beverage offerings across campus
  • Assist with food and beverage preparation and service during peak demand periods
  • Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready service environments

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner closely with Guest Experience, Program Experience, Rooms, Culinary, and other operational teams
  • Support campus-wide initiatives, special projects, and operational priorities as assigned
  • Assist with safety, security, and emergency response procedures when needed
  • Help ensure a seamless guest experience through strong communication and collaboration across departments

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in hospitality, food and beverage, events, guest services, or related operational environments
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

Preferred

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical education
  • Two or more years of hospitality, service industry, or operational leadership experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and movement throughout campus. Team members should be comfortable working in a physically active environment and regularly lifting up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier items as operational needs require
