POSITION SUMMARY

The Journeyman Electrician provides advanced technical support and skilled electrical service across all Steamboat Springs Ski Resort properties. This licensed role is responsible for executing electrical repairs, scheduled maintenance, and new installation projects on resort buildings and specialized equipment-ensuring operational safety, high system efficiency, and minimal downtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Know, understand and apply National Electrical Code

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment ranging from 12 to 480 volts

  • Maintain all electrical power and related equipment including, but not limited to: commercial kitchen appliances, motors-1/8 to 400 horsepower, lighting, control circuits, motor control centers, underground cable, and HVAC mechanical equipment

  • Design, designate and dedicate control circuits and amp loads

  • Calculate wire sizes, voltage drops, conduit sizes

  • Facilitate in the design and cost estimating for minor electrical installations

  • Manage electrical parts and supplies inventory

  • Assist with temporary service installations for special events

  • Assist with general and specific facility maintenance work requests unrelated to electrical

  • Attend team meetings, as required

  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp's Service Excellence standards

  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a thorough understanding of OSHA regulations

  • Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have current Driver's license; a successful motor vehicle record background check is required

  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written

  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Journeyman Electrician certification

  • Knowledge and comprehension of the National Electrical Code required

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Resort hourly pay range: $29.00 - $33.70 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Lift a minimum of 50 lbs. on a recurring basis

  • Must perform assigned work, indoors or outdoors, off ladders, scaffolding or in confined areas, often in inclement weather conditions

  • Ski/snowboard at an intermediate level
