ABOUT THE ROLE


be the change HR is hiring our first Outside Sales Representative. This is not a lead-nurturing role. You will own the full sales cycle — from cold outreach to close — with a focus on landing new HR retainer clients across the United States, with a physical focus in Orange County, LA, and the Inland Empire.


We're a boutique HR consulting firm: 5-star rated, 97% client retention, WBE/MBE certified. We serve small and mid-size businesses that need expert HR without the cost of a full in-house team. We are also a certified social enterprise — 1% of our topline revenue funds free job readiness training for survivors of sex trafficking.

COMPENSATION


Base Salary: $65,000 – $75,000/year

OTE Year 1: ~$130,000 at quota | higher for overperformers

OTE Year 2+: ~$155,000 at quota | higher for overperformers

Quota: $25,000/month in new revenue ($300,000/year)

Commission: 8% on self-sourced retainer closings (compounds across client cohorts)

Bonuses: Monthly + quarterly + annual performance bonuses


Commission is compounded and is variable and based on individual sales performance — it is not guaranteed. Actual earnings will vary.


How commission compounds: Close $25K in new monthly retainer revenue at 8% = $2,000/month from that group for 6 months ($12,000 total). Close at quota again each month — by Month 6 you have 6 cohorts running simultaneously = $12,000/month in commission trail, before bonuses.



WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING


Prospect 50 new leads/month via cold calling, LinkedIn, email, referrals, networking, conferences, and targeted outbound

Qualify 25+ leads/month into active sales conversations

Run discovery calls and deliver Challenger Sale-style presentations

Close new HR retainer and project contracts

Build a referral partner network: employment attorneys, CPAs, benefit brokers, payroll providers

Attend and actively work WBENC, NMSDC, Expo West, B3, and B2B networking events

Manage your full pipeline in HubSpot with discipline and complete visibility

Hit a $25,000/month new revenue quota



REQUIREMENTS — YOU MUST HAVE


Verifiable quota attainment in full-cycle B2B sales — send your numbers when you apply

5+ years expereince cold calling experience — non-negotiable

5+ years experience selling professional services (HR, payroll, PEO, staffing, benefits, or similar)

Ability to self-manage your pipeline without hand-holding

Active network in the Orange County or Los Angeles business community

Comfort with video selling tools and HubSpot CRM



STRONGLY PREFERRED


Background in HR

Experience competing against or selling alongside ADP, Paychex, TriNet, Bambee, or Insperity

Familiarity with the Challenger Sale methodology
