What is commission lumber sales?

Commission lumber sales refer to the process where sales professionals or agents sell lumber products on behalf of a lumber company or mill, earning a commission based on the value or volume of their sales. These salespeople work to connect buyers—such as retailers, contractors, or manufacturers—with the right lumber products, negotiating prices and terms. Their income is directly tied to their sales performance, incentivizing them to build relationships and close deals. This role often requires market knowledge, negotiation skills, and a strong customer network.

What are some common challenges faced by commission lumber sales professionals and how can they be addressed?
