Job Title: Director of Resource Deployment

Location: Gillette, WY (in-office)

Position Reports To: COO

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 / year, Final salary will be decided within the posted range commensurate with experience.

Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Director of Resource Deployment. This full-time position will join the team at Visionary Broadband, one of the top internet service providers in the Rocky Mountain region.


Please note: We are only considering candidates who currently reside in the Northeast Wyoming area. Relocation assistance will be considered for a successful candidate that resides outside the Gillette (Northeast Wyoming) area.

The Director of Resource Deployment is a strategic leadership role responsible for the efficient, high-performance allocation and execution of company assets, field crews. This position oversees the central engine of our operational execution, directly managing the Manager of Dispatch and the routing/scheduling teams.

The ideal candidate will transform complex logistical data into streamlined field operations, maximizing workforce utilization, reducing operational friction, and ensuring large-scale projects and service tickets are delivered on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Resource Allocation & Logistics

  • Provide executive leadership to the dispatch, scheduling, and logistical routing teams to maximize regional crew utilization and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and track sophisticated deployment strategies that align field capacity with project pipelines and customer demands.
  • Optimize the utilization of internal crews, external contractors, specialized equipment.
  • Establish data-driven forecasting models to predict labor and resource constraints before they impact delivery timelines.

Operational Excellence & Performance Tracking

  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the deployment team, including crew utilization rates, travel/windshield time, first-time completion rates, and SLA compliance.
  • Standardize dispatch workflows, building a highly responsive, control-tower style centralized operation.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Oversee the integration and leverage of modern workforce management software, routing tools, and fleet tracking systems.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Directly manage, mentor, and elevate the Manager of Dispatch, establishing clear performance expectations and professional development pathways.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and precision within the routing and dispatch teams.
  • Serve as the critical bridge between field leadership, project managers, and supply chain/procurement to ensure seamless operational alignment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Non-Linear Problem Solver
  • Experience: 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, large-scale project deployment, or field service management.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing management-level subordinates and overseeing complex, multi-market or regional operational footprints.
  • Technical Savvy: Deep familiarity with workforce management platforms, GPS/fleet telematics, ERPs, or advanced automated routing software.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to translate complex data sets and field variables into actionable scheduling strategies and operational efficiencies.
  • Communication: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure operational situations and maintain strong relationships with both in-house crews and external contractors.
