Job description

Description
At Sewell Fleet Management, we don't just manage vehicles-we build long-term, data-driven partnerships that keep businesses moving forward. With decades of automotive heritage, we provide comprehensive, lifecycle fleet solutions, from acquisition and telematics integration to maintenance management and remarketing.
We are expanding our team and seeking a strategic, high-energy Fleet Account Manager who thrives at the intersection of consultative sales, logistics technology, and exceptional client relationship management.
The Role
As a Fleet Account Manager, you will serve as the primary strategic partner for our commercial clients. This is not a transactional sales role; it is a consultative, relationship-driven position. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial fleets, analyzing operational metrics, and implementing tailored strategies that minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximize fleet uptime.
This position offers a hybrid/remote work structure, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule while maintaining close collaboration with our leadership and operations teams.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management & Retention
  • Primary Relationship Owner: Act as the dedicated point of contact for a portfolio of mid-to-large commercial fleet clients, ensuring executive-level satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Consultative Lifecyle Planning: Partner with clients to design customized vehicle lifecycle plans, determining optimal replacement cycles, acquisition strategies, and remarketing timelines.
  • Business Reviews: Conduct regular strategic business reviews with client stakeholders to analyze fleet performance, spend data, and operational efficiencies.

Growth & Revenue Generation
  • Portfolio Expansion: Identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts, expanding vehicle counts and upselling ancillary services (e.g., fuel cards, maintenance programs, safety tools).
  • Consultative Selling: Present tailored fleet solutions to C-suite and operations executives, aligning Sewell's capabilities with the client's strategic business goals.
  • RFP & Proposal Collaboration: Partner with the executive revenue and sales leadership teams to contribute to RFPs and structured fleet proposals for key target partnerships.

Data Analytics & Fleet Logistics
  • Telematics & Technology Integration: Guide clients on leveraging vehicle tracking technology and data automation platforms to monitor driver behavior, safety, and fuel efficiency.
  • Maintenance Optimization: Work alongside our maintenance teams to track parts and labor metrics, helping clients minimize downtime and control maintenance expenditures.

What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Successful account management or business development experience, ideally within fleet management, automotive logistics, commercial leasing, or B2B industrial solutions.
  • Consultative Mindset: A proven track record of managing complex corporate accounts and selling solutions based on total value rather than just price points.
  • Data Literacy: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fleet metrics, spreadsheet data, and financial tracking models to tell a story and recommend actionable strategies.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with modern CRM systems, fleet telematics platforms, and workflow automation tools is highly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the professional presence required to advise corporate executives and operations directors alike.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: A base salary plus a commission structure tailored to your experience and portfolio growth.
  • Work Flexibility: A true hybrid/remote schedule that balances autonomy with team collaboration.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Robust health, dental, and vision insurance options, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
  • Career Trajectory: A clear path toward leadership roles within a rapidly growing sales and revenue organization led by industry veterans.
