Position Overview:
Edgesource is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer - Command & Control to provide SETA (Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance) support for the ground segment of a satellite program. The person in this position will play a critical role on the Ground Team, providing systems engineering oversight for a cloud-based platform that supports mission success. This position requires that all job duties be performed full-time onsite in the Chantilly, VA area.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure costs to ensure alignment with program budgets.
  • Review, provide feedback, and recommend approval for delivered Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
  • Assist in prioritizing and managing system requirements to align with mission needs.
  • Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and other Agile processes.
  • Assess and recommend cloud architecture solutions to support mission and operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards through oversight of Configuration Management (CM) and Configuration Control procedures.


Required Qualifications:

  • Possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 14 to 19 years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with 10 to 14 years of experience, OR a PhD with 8 to 9 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AWS and cloud-based architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experienced with requirements analysis and tracing.
  • Experienced with cost, schedule, and performance trades.
  • Experienced with systems integration, IVV&T (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Testing).
  • Experienced with risk and opportunity management.
  • Experienced with user engagement.
  • Experienced with configuration Management and Configuration Control.


Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Degree in Technology, Management, Software Development, or another related field.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect credential.
