The Job
The Command Center Specialist is responsible for monitoring all dashboards, datacenters, incidents, changes, while documenting and communicating all impactful events to the client as well as leadership. The Command Center Specialist is also responsible for surveillance of operations and will need to communicate day-to-day security issues, respond to and address security issues as they occur, and communicate and create detailed documentation of all incidents.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze data and organize it accordingly and be an excellent communicator with the ability to speak and write clearly and accurately.
  • Monitor and evaluate price points regularly for hash price, energy, and Bitcoin.
  • Support all incidents, changes, and service requests within the data center space in a timely manner.
  • Document all major incidents and notify all teams involved in recovery within the data center space.
  • Draft concise and accurate situational reports. Prepare and present briefing materials.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Effectively listen to, understand, clarify, and resolve the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and leadership.
  • Coordinate with the managers on physical access control systems, identity management, facilities access, and access needs for special events.
  • Monitoring of the data center space and reporting of any suspicious activity.
  • Coordination with on-site teams to take necessary actions during emergency scenarios such as weather, fire, and active shooter.
  • Work as a member of a team to continuously improve operational effectiveness, improve SOPs, and deliver support to the customer.
  • Position requires long hours; night, weekend, and holiday work; and managing stressful situations and conflict resolutions.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication both within the team and with coworkers, teammates, and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • Associate degree in related fields of study OR 3 years of relevant, Data Center support experience.
  • Expertise in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the Windows operating system.
  • Strong IT troubleshooting skills - network, platform, storage.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with IP Cameras.
  • Experience with Access Control.
  • Experience or Certification(s) with Genetec Security Software.

Preferred
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure.
  • Experience with applications such as Confluence, Jira.
  • Experience with Slack, Zabbix, Sigma, Zoom.
  • Basic knowledge of data center principles.
  • General electrical engineering knowledge.
  • Understanding of ITIL service delivery concepts.

Austin, TX - Onsite
Travel
Minimal travel between data centers may be required as needed.
Work Environment
This job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
