Job description

Color Analyst (Packaging / Flexographic Printing)

Location: Neenah, WI

Schedule: Full-time, first shift (9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday)

Work Type: On-site

At Printron, we bring packaging to life through full-service prepress solutions supporting a wide range of customers and printing environments. Our Graphic Services team combines technical expertise and advanced color management tools to deliver consistent, high-quality print results while maintaining a collaborative, people-first workplace.

We are seeking an experienced Color Analyst to lead color management, press analysis, and proofing programs supporting flexographic flexible packaging and corrugated printing environments. This role partners with Graphic Services, Sales, Operations, and customers to ensure accurate color reproduction, optimized press performance, and consistent production results across customer programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop comprehensive color management programs, oversee device characterization, profile development, and press-side support.
  • Analyze customer print samples and work with customers to help process improvement.
  • Create and manage press, proofing, and separation profiles using industry-standard software tools.
  • Provide job-specific color editing guidance as required for individual customer or production needs.
  • Administer GMG OpenColor profiles, manage proofing and separation configurations.
  • Participate in customer-facing color and print projects as required on a job or project basis.
  • Provide occasional press-side troubleshooting and production support, including limited travel.
  • Produce and manage GMG/Epson contract proofs.
  • Maintain GMG ink books and customer ink swatch libraries.
  • Support distortion calculator management and related resources.
  • Coordinate proofing supply inventory, perform proof printer maintenance, and coordination of service support as needed.
  • Work with technical support vendors to resolve equipment or workflow issues.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and customer teams to meet quality and production objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in color management, prepress, or packaging graphics environments strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of flexographic printing, packaging workflows, and press color management practices
  • Experience with GMG ColorProof and OpenColor workflows or comparable color management systems
  • Experience using X-Rite i1Profiler or comparable color measurement and profiling tools
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills related to color and press performance
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical training in Graphic Arts, printing, or related field
  • Experience supporting multiple press specifications and customer color requirements
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Esko workflows
  • Experience working directly with customers or press operators on color-related issues
  • Proficient in implementing and maintaining ISO and FIRST specifications
  • Certified G7+ Expert

Compensation

This is a senior technical role compensated within Printron’s established pay structure. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, demonstrated technical skill, and internal equity, aligned with the responsibilities and impact of the role.

  • On-site position based in Neenah, Wisconsin
  • Occasional travel required for press-side or customer support
