Summary
The general purpose of this position is to design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for football student-athletes and teach and educate student-athletes.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the teaching and educating of student-athletes in physical strength and conditioning techniques
- Assist in the design and implementation of strength training and conditioning programs for football program
- Assist with workout design and implementation for additional Olympic sports assignments under the direct supervision of the Director of Strength and Conditioning
- Assist the Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach with all aspects of program administration.
- Directly supervise and train interns/practicum students
- Coordinate training facility cleaning and maintenance of equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
The following Degree is required:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
The following Degree is preferred:
- Master's Degree
The following Experience is required:
- 1 year of experience in a NCAA member strength & conditioning program working with athletes
The following licenses, certifications, or registrations is required:
- Certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association
- Documented CPR and AED certifications
- Can be obtained upon hiring
Additional Information
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have the ability to work in the collegiate setting with collegiate athletes, coaches, and other athletic department staff
- Applicant must exhibit ability to instruct, supervise, and demonstrate associated exercises in a weightlifting based training environment
- Successful candidate must display competency to coordinate with the Asst. Director of Strength & Conditioning for Football and the Football Athletic Trainers regarding certain biomechanical assessments as well as implementation of the return to play protocols for athletes returning from injury
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Very strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage groups of wide varieties of people with broad backgrounds and experiences
