Debt Resolutions Specialist (Collections)
Reston, VA | Direct Hire

We are partnering with a well-established financial institution to identify a Debt Resolutions Specialist to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in consumer collections who is seeking a stable environment, strong benefits, and long-term growth potential.

Compensation

  • $45,000 – $53,000 base salary
  • Full benefits package

Schedule & Flexibility

  • Candidates local to the Reston, VA area are expected to work on-site initially, with eligibility for a hybrid schedule every other week after approximately six months of employment.
  • Fully remote candidates may also be considered if currently residing in one of the following states:
    • Florida
    • Tennessee
    • Delaware
    • Missouri
    • Texas
    • Georgia

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve delinquent consumer accounts, including credit cards, personal loans, and mortgages
  • Contact borrowers to negotiate repayment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances
  • Monitor overdraft and delinquency reports
  • Process charge-offs and escalate accounts when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate account documentation and records
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support account resolution efforts

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of collections experience within a financial institution, consumer lending environment, or collections agency
  • Experience handling consumer debt collections and repayment negotiations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage volume and prioritize effectively
  • Comfortable working in a collections-focused environment
