Job description

Lead Messaging And Collaboration Engineer

This role requires your skills in Microsoft's O365 platform to adapt to the needs of our dynamic digital workplace. As a Lead Messaging and Collaboration Engineer, you will provide strategic thinking and functional support to enhance capabilities in the areas of tenant management of O365 subscriptions, O365 service configuration and feature implementation. You will work with senior architects and engineers from other disciplines to develop strategies to deploy new Microsoft O365, Proofpoint Email and Azure services with the goal of improving internal collaboration, productivity and knowledge sharing. You will help shape and deliver the future of our O365 implementation. You must have a strong knowledge of the governance, security, monitoring and cost management aspects that are essential to meeting our business demands.

This Hybrid Role (in-office Tues-Wed-Thurs) can be based in either Charlotte, NC or Malvern PA. In this role, you will:

  • Proactively identify opportunities to leverage collaboration technologies to solve business problems and increase overall crew productivity. Administer, manage, and optimize Microsoft Teams policies and governance to ensure seamless collaboration across the organization.
  • Implement best practices for secure and efficient use of Teams. Manage and administer the SharePoint Online environment, including site collections, permissions, and content management, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Provide environments and guidance for custom Power Apps solutions to automate business processes and improve workflow efficiency across various departments.
  • Oversee and manage Outlook and Exchange Online policies, including email security, compliance settings, and mail flow rules to ensure a secure and efficient email communication system.
  • Leverage automation tools and scripting languages to streamline operations within the Microsoft collaboration environment, reducing manual tasks and improving system efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest collaboration and productivity technologies and updates to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the collaboration space.
  • Train and mentor peers as a key contributor to the overall technical development of the team. Create documentation, including project plans, procedures, troubleshooting tips.
  • Provide expert/Lead level Tier 3 technical support services for issues elevated from Operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot availability interruptions and other production issues.
  • When necessary, partner with vendor to resolve production impacting incidents.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing Azure and O365 subscriptions.
  • In depth understanding of the Microsoft Azure, Azure Active Directory management, O365 platforms, Proofpoint on demand (PoD), and Proofpoint Secure Email relays.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred, but not required
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
  • Ability to research and recommend innovative and where possible, automated approaches for systems administration and IT related tasks.
  • Demonstrated focus on team development and on-time project/solutions delivery
  • Proven track record in adaptability, teamwork, problem solving, coaching, influence, strategic thinking, results orientation, leadership and change management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
  • Certifications in Microsoft technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.
