Audio/Visual (AV) Collaboration EngineerAbout the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audio/Visual (AV) Collaboration Engineer to join a high-performing IT team supporting enterprise collaboration technologies in a fast-paced financial services environment. This role is responsible for the engineering, design, implementation, administration, and support of enterprise voice, video conferencing, and collaboration solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in professional AV systems, unified communications, and video conferencing technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot live events, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support modern cloud-based collaboration platforms.


Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer, design, configure, administer, and support enterprise collaboration, voice, and video conferencing systems.

  • Provide Tier 2 support for AV, Unified Communications, and collaboration technologies.

  • Support and troubleshoot executive meetings, Town Halls, Fireside Chats, and other live events with minimal downtime.

  • Ensure the availability and performance of cloud-based and managed collaboration services.

  • Configure and support AV hardware and software installed by third-party integrators.

  • Coordinate AV installation projects, including vendor management, scheduling, and tracking labor and materials.

  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), assist with AV system designs, and provide implementation estimates for new conference room deployments.

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for AV vendors, service providers, and internal escalation teams.

  • Utilize monitoring tools such as Cisco Room Management, SolarWinds, and similar platforms to identify and resolve system issues.

  • Partner with network and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, firmware upgrades, and security remediation to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

  • Commission newly installed conference rooms and provide onsite end-user training.

  • Research emerging AV and collaboration technologies and recommend improvements.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or a high school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting professional AV systems.

  • Experience with enterprise AV solutions from vendors such as:

    • Crestron

    • QSC

    • Shure

    • Biamp

    • Cisco

  • Strong understanding of IP networking concepts and communication protocols.

  • Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting collaboration technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Cisco codecs

    • Video displays

    • Microphones

    • DSPs

    • Amplifiers

    • Video switchers

    • Extenders

    • Control systems

  • Experience installing and supporting AV infrastructure including:

    • Rack assemblies

    • Structured cabling

    • Cable terminations

    • Connectors

    • Speaker installations

    • Flat-panel display mounting

  • Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.

  • Experience supporting cloud-based interoperability and collaboration platforms.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, IM, and web collaboration applications.

  • Knowledge of Unified Communications, VoIP, and enterprise video conferencing technologies.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues independently.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when supporting critical events.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., climb ladders (up to 10 feet), and work on your feet for extended periods.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Visio, or similar tools to create AV system designs.

  • Experience programming or configuring AV hardware, including:

    • Crestron

    • Biamp

    • QSC

    • ClickShare

    • Cisco Codec platforms

  • InfoComm CTS-I Certification.

  • Cisco CCNA Collaboration Certification.

  • Additional AV manufacturer certifications are highly desirable.
