We are seeking a Permanent Medical Physicist in Iowa.

Permanent Medical Physicist

Position Type: Permanent

Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM + On-call (1:2 ratio)

Position Details:

Patient Population: Cancer patients
Setting: Clinic
Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics in the Radiation Oncology Department

  • Ensure equipment safety, quality patient care, and participate in teaching

  • Perform QA for linear accelerators, patient charts, and treatment plans

  • Implement new technologies as needed
    Required Procedures:

  • SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, gating, SGRT, 3D Conformal

  • QA checks for treatment planning and linear accelerators
    EMR System: Aria
    Support Staff:

  • 2 Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, 8 Radiation Therapists, 3 RNs, 2 Office Secretaries

  • 1 Billing & Coding Coordinator, 1 Social Worker, 1 Office Manager
    Days Per Month: Full-time (40 hours per week)
    On-Call/Weekends: On-call 1:2, no weekend shifts

Submission Requirements:
  • MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences - Required

  • US Board Eligible (with plans to become Board Certified) or Board Certified in Medical Physics by ABR or ABMP - Required

  • Must be or become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist - Required

  • Iowa state license (or willingness to obtain) - Required

  • Clean malpractice history - Required

  • Does the provider require visa support (J1 or H1B)? - Required
