Job Summary:

This is a full time year round position located in the beautiful city of williams Arizona! The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for resolving guest issues to the best of their ability, calling on direct reports when necessary, assisting management in the training and supervision of all front desk staff, and is responsible for performing all functions and responsibilities of the Manager on Duty, Guest Service Agent, and Night Auditor when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • In the absence of the Front Desk Management, this position will serve as a principal manager on duty and will be asked to make decisions in all things concerning the welfare and safety of the hotel, its guests, and its employees. Calling on your direct reports when necessary.
  • Resolve guest problems to the best of your ability calling on direct reports when necessary. Never leave a guest unsatisfied.
  • Assist the Director of Lodging and/or Assistant Front Desk Manager in training all front desk staff. Using Guest Service Agent Training Manual.
  • Perform all functions and responsibilities of a Guest Service Agent and Night Audit when needed.
  • Under the direction of the Front, Desk Management assists in resolving conflicts & administering consistent disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Responsible for handling all group tours. Assist with the blocking, pre-registration, and registration of all tours, VIPs, and any other special attention guests; ensure that rooms are inspected before arrival for all VIPs.
  • Monitor the flow of information from shift to shift and day to day through the use of verbal and email communication Inform Front Desk Management of all situations using email, verbal, or phone communication.
  • Assist Front Desk Management in having schedules posted on time.
  • Assist Front Desk Management in managing labor according to schedule and business levels.
  • Enforce adherence to Xanterra Parks & Resorts Lodging standards of appearance and conduct.
  • Assist Front Desk Management in maintaining the supply of front desk office equipment and supplies including; registration cards, and room keys.
  • Responsible for the accurate & timely completion of all reports i.e. accidents, etc.
  • Respond to all audits and accounting requests in a timely fashion.
  • On occasion, individuals may be asked to perform functions of a higher or lower skill level positions including night audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in the lodging industry.
  • Previous guest service and cash handling work experience.
  • Experience with computers and Windows-type software.
  • Experience with Hotel Property Management Software is prefered.
  • Knowledge of Williams and the surrounding area is prefered.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
  • Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, and wrist motion. 
  • Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 100lbs.
  • Will be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally walk up flights of stairs.
