Position: Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Department: Our Island Home – Town of Nantucket

Compensation: $28.00 per hour

Schedule: Per Diem | Non-Union

Our Island Home, Nantucket's town-operated skilled nursing facility, is seeking a Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant to join our dedicated care team. This role plays a vital part in delivering respectful, dignified, and high-quality personal care to our residents in a safe and compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily personal care activities in accordance with care plans.
  • Support a nurturing, patient-centered environment that promotes health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other team members to ensure comprehensive resident care.
  • Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Licensure: Completion of a Massachusetts-approved CNA training program with an active, valid CNA license in good standing.
  • Certifications: Current Adult CPR/AED certification required.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 lbs regularly.
    • Physically capable of assisting residents with mobility and transfers.
    • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
    • Mental and physical stamina to manage the demands of a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Basic English communication skills required (verbal and written).
