Pay Rate: $165,000 to $180,000 per year
Position OverviewThe Clubhouse Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional member experiences through operational excellence in both Food & Beverage and Golf Services at The Villages Golf & Country Club. This position provides strategic and operational oversight of the Food & Beverage Director, Executive Chef, Catering & Events Coordinator, and Director of Golf Services. The Clubhouse Manager ensures all clubhouse and golf operations meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and professionalism, while modeling and enforcing The Villages' Guiding Principles and Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Service Excellence, Teamwork, and Accountability.
Essential FunctionsLeadership & Culture - Lead with The Villages' Guiding Principles, ensuring all actions create an exceptional member experience.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment across Food & Beverage (F&B) and Golf Services.
- Maintain high visibility during service hours and events to engage with members and staff, reinforcing a "Members First" culture.
- Hold department heads accountable for achieving service, quality, and financial goals.
- Demonstrate awareness of workplace safety practices and support organizational efforts to maintain a safe environment for staff, residents, and visitors.
Food & Beverage / Clubhouse Operations - Oversee all dining venues, banquet/event spaces, and beverage programs, ensuring excellence in menu quality, presentation, and timing.
- Partner with the Executive Chef to deliver consistent culinary quality and innovation.
- Direct the Food & Beverage Director in managing front-of-house operations, service standards, and staff development.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations, as well as all required licenses and certifications.
Golf Services Oversight - Supervise the Director of Golf Services to deliver exceptional golf shop, instruction, and tournament experiences.
- Oversee merchandising strategy, inventory control, cost of goods sold (COGS), and service standards in the Pro Shop.
- Integrate golf operations with clubhouse dining, catering, and event services to provide seamless experiences for members and guests.
Event Coordination - Partner with the Catering & Events Coordinator to ensure seamless planning, execution, and follow-up for both Club-sponsored and member-hosted events.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate tournaments, clinics, and special events with dining and hospitality offerings.
- Maintain consistency, efficiency, and exceptional service standards in all event operations.
Financial Stewardship - Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and KPIs for all supervised areas.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, COGS, and payroll to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Identify and implement revenue-enhancing initiatives in both golf and dining operations.
Team Development - Recruit, onboard, and mentor department leaders and staff.
- Conduct regular leadership team meetings for operational alignment.
- Implement training programs to reinforce service excellence, safety compliance, and professional growth.
Technology & Systems - Ensure effective use of club management software (POS, reservations, inventory tools).
- Partner with IT and department heads to maintain efficient operational systems that enhance member service.
Work Experience - Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in private club, resort, or luxury hospitality operations, with oversight of both F&B and golf/recreational services.
- Proven success in team leadership, service standard implementation, and budget management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-volume operations simultaneously.
Skills - Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent financial literacy and budget management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Jonas, Club essential, Cobalt, or similar systems preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment - Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods during events and service hours.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work at a computer workstation for extended periods, including prolonged exposure to computer screens.
- Work is performed in a combination of indoor office, clubhouse, dining, and outdoor golf course environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
Conditions of Employment - Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check is required.
- Must maintain professional conduct and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license is required and must be maintained throughout employment if driving on The Villages property.
Education - Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- ServSafe Food Manager and Responsible Beverage Service Certification (or equivalent) required within 60 days of hire.
