Job description

Deerfield is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Utility Worker/Steward. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused in providing superior service.

Key Responsibilities of the Utility Person:
  • Cleans clubhouse restrooms daily.
  • Cleans Kitchen daily.
  • Cleans, sanitizes and properly stocks of all dishes, pots, pans, flatware and glassware.
  • Maintains cleanliness of entire kitchen including dry storage and walk-in cooler, sweeping & mopping.
  • Performs daily cleaning to include dry storage, walk-in shelving, steam tables, hoods and exhaust system.
  • Stores all dishes and other wares in proper areas. 
  • Clean, wash and sanitize all dishes, clean kitchen after close.
  • Vacuums and sweeps clubhouse daily.
  • Collects trash in and around clubhouse area and disposes in facility dumpster.
  • Checks the restrooms on a regular schedule.
  • Maintains clubhouse cleanliness throughout work shift.
  • Cleans and washes golf carts.
  • Cleans and maintains an organized golf cart storage facility.
  • Assists with set up and cleanup of event tent.
  • Assists management team with similar housekeeping tasks when needed.
  • Reports all problem situations to the Manager of the Day in a timely manner.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications for the Utility Person:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (if driving golf cars).
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
  • Must have friendly personality and enjoy working with the public.
  • Organized, able to work well in fast paced environment.
  • Must have good customer/guest orientation.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Other Qualifications:
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequently stands, walks and sits.
  • Regularly uses hands, pushes, pulls, reaches with arms and hands, talks and listens.
  • Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches.
  • Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequently works with cleaning supplies and chemicals.
  • Noise level is moderate.
