Job description

Position Summary:

Extend the welcome and courtesies of the Dancing Bear Aspen. Provide transportation, luggage and delivery services to owners and guests. Assist arriving and departing owners with luggage and provide information services to owners, guests and patrons of the Dancing Bear.

HOUSING: Seasonal winter housing rental may be available starting October 1. Housing available only for employees of Dancing Bear is shared housing with one to two other individuals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Owner Check-In:

  • Escort arriving and departing owners to and from their Residence on a rotating basis with other Club Assistants, handling luggage with care and efficiency.
  • Ensure ownerโ€™s residence is in order: outline location of Residence welcome packet, amenities, brochures, heating controls, tv remotes, owner services directory, fire exits, DBA and restaurant facilities and hours of operation.
  • Ensure stored items are delivered as requested prior to ownerโ€™s arrival and returned to ownerโ€™s storage upon departure. Taking extra care to ensure items are delivered and stored to the proper locations.
  • Handle owner luggage in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow baggage tagging and ski/bike/golf club storage procedures, make sure concierge is aware of location.

Transportation:

  • Pick-up and deliver owners to various local locations in accordance with the transportation schedules.
  • Handle in-house requests.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Concierge staff.
  • Valet Park vehicles upon request.

Information Services:

  • Familiarize owner with the Snowmass and Aspen points of interest and DBA facilities. Mention the Reception Desk and shuttle services while transporting owners from the airport.
  • Know about all daily functions, locations and times for appropriate owner direction.
  • Notify the acting supervisor of owner problems or complaints for immediate handling.
  • Describe all DBA services and hours of operation; provide safety information and other information as needed.
  • Assisting concierge with answering telephone calls and owners/guests approaching the desk when the concierge is busy.
  • Contributing to DBAโ€™s guest history, preferences, habits and requests by recording in Owner Profiles.

Maintenance:

  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness daily including checklists.
  • Report all problems with vehicles to the Rooms Division Manager.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle maintenance closet.
  • Polish the bell carts as needed.
  • Ensuring a crisp, luxurious presentation throughout the Dancing Bear Lobby and Front Entrance.

Responsible Driving/Accident Reporting:

  • Report all accidents immediately and notify the Rooms Division Manager and/or Manager on Duty.
  • Always drive safely and wear a seat belt. Ensure that other front seat passengers also wear seatbelts.
  • Never exceed the speed limit and never demand the right of way.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Running errands on behalf of owners and guests as well as for the needs of the property.
  • Handling shipping requests.
  • Make Rooms Division Manager aware of ownersโ€™ comments and complaints.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures for the Dancing Bear.
  • Report to work in compliance with the Dancing Bear Uniform and Grooming Standards.
  • Report to shift on time.
  • Maintain post position at the front door.
  • Deliver parcels and notify concierge of any packages for owners not in house.
  • Complete checklists, tasks and projects delegated by your manager and concierges and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels permit.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards of Dancing Bear.
  • Maintain bicycle fleet, ensuring bike inventory, labeling, cleanliness and notify manager when repairs are needed.
  • Assist with moving furniture and other items for special events as requested.

Service Standards:

  • Eye contact should be made at a distance of no less than 10 feet from every owner.
  • A genuine smile should be offered at a distance of no less than 5 feet from every owner.
  • Employees should build rapport with owners during any conversation if the owner responds to the initial statement with a conversational demeanor.
  • Owner last name is used effectively, but discreetly, as a signal of recognition at least once and not more than twice during any conversation with owners.
  • Before concluding conversations, the owner is verbally offered additional assistance with a statement relevant to the ownerโ€™s individual needs.

Position Seasonality:

Seasonal/Full-time or Part-time.

Education & Knowledge:

Previous hotel experience preferred. Excellent use of the English language. Valid USA driverโ€™s license.

Working Conditions:

Continuous standing/walking. Lifting and carrying luggage (up to 60 lbs.). Occasional stooping, crouching, and reaching. Constant handling, talking, hearing, and seeing at near and far distances. 50/50% inside/outside in summer/winter. Will occasionally experience wet/humid conditions, and poor weather conditions.


Compensation details: 22-22 Yearly Salary
