A highly respected national AmLaw firm are seeking an experienced Senior Client Development Manager to lead business development and marketing strategy for one of the firm’s core high-stakes litigation and dispute resolution practice groups.


Operating as a strategic business advisor to Practice Group Leaders and partners, the Senior Manager will drive revenue generation, client retention and brand expansion. This role acts as a high-level consultant to the attorneys while collaborating seamlessly with internal firm teams - including Finance, Pricing, Lateral Recruiting and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) - to execute global firm priorities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted marketing and business development advisor to practice chairs and senior stakeholders to guide revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Collaborate with practice leadership to design, implement and track annual strategic marketing plans and budgets, ensuring a strong focus on ROI.
  • Develop data-driven, client-centric marketing campaigns. Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to identify new multidisciplinary business opportunities.
  • Lead client-facing pitch strategies, providing comprehensive research, market intelligence and interview coaching for partners. Coordinate with the internal proposal team on major RFPs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of clients' business objectives and industry trends to create targeted messaging and go-to-market strategies.
  • Oversee and optimize the strategic submission process for major legal awards and directories to ensure the group's global capabilities are highly ranked.
  • Introduce innovative approaches to elevate the firm's brand profile within specific industry sectors.
  • Oversee high-impact practice-related events and conference sponsorships from concept to completion, ensuring targeted client engagement and measurable ROI.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; JD or MBA is highly preferred.
  • 9+ years of progressive marketing and business development experience, strictly within a legal or sophisticated professional services environment.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a deep understanding of attorney-client dynamics and how BD functions drive law firm revenue.
  • Proven ability to influence, advise, and gain buy-in from law firm partners, backed by a track record of flawless execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to and collaborating with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Superior organizational skills with the agility to manage competing deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Experience mentoring, managing and investing in the professional development of junior team members.
