Job description

GLG isย seekingย a supportive, collaborative, and tenacious individual to join ourย Industrialsย team supportingย a diversified book of global client accounts.ย The Businessย Developmentย Associate (BDA)ย willย be responsible forย generating and qualifying new business opportunitiesย withinย key prospectย and/or newly established logos,ย ย regularlyย assisting with presenting ourย capabilitiesย to clients, using our CRM to track and map client accounts, and work in collaboration withย Business Developmentย Manager toย sell newย GLG subscriptions.ย ย 

The Business Development Associateย role on ourย Industrialsย team is effectively a supportive role that drivesย newย businessย with a range ofย prospectiveย clients.ย ย 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):ย 

  • Research target accounts and contacts toย identifyย key decision-makers and their specific jobs to be done/pain points.ย ย 
  • Conductย personalizedย outreachย via email, cold calling, and LinkedInย to prospects at key new logosย 
  • Engage prospects in conversations to understand their business challenges, needs, budget, authority, and timelineย 
  • Articulate GLG's value proposition clearly and concisely, focusing on how it solves the prospect's problemย 
  • Maintain daily/weekly activity targetsย ย 

Key performance metrics for the Business Development Associate include total outreach, connected outreach, establishing relationships with contacts at client firms, client contract value, increase in users of GLG's services at subscriptions sold, and adoption of new products and systems. The Business Development Associate will work closely with the Business Development Manager so the commercial success of the new logo team will be a metric in how you are measured.ย 

An ideal candidate will have the following:ย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย 
  • 1-2 years ofย demonstratedย success selling information services and solutions via phone, email, and consultative sellingย 
  • The ability toย quicklyย establishย rapportย with key decision makers inย prospectiveย firmsย ย 
  • Ability to work well independently and be self-motivatedย 
  • A strong passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually challenging issuesย 
  • Superior verbal communication skillsย 
  • Excellent attention to detailย 
  • A demonstrated ability to read and understand peopleย
