We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims & Litigation Specialist to protect company assets by managing commercial disputes, pursuing financial recoveries, and supporting small claims proceedings where legally permitted. This role manages the complete claims lifecycle, including investigations, dispute resolution, freight and warranty claims, litigation support, and recovery efforts.

The ideal candidate has experience in claims management, dispute resolution, risk management, or litigation support and enjoys working cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is not an attorney position.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage customer, freight, warranty, vendor, and commercial claims from investigation through resolution.
  • Investigate disputes, determine liability, and negotiate settlements while minimizing financial exposure.
  • Prepare documentation and coordinate activities related to small claims proceedings, including court filings and case deadlines.
  • Represent the company in small claims matters where legally authorized and permitted by applicable state laws.
  • Pursue financial recoveries related to freight damage, lost shipments, delivery failures, chargebacks, and warranty claims.
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Customer Experience, Finance, and Logistics teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Develop and improve claims management processes, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports on claims activity and recovery efforts.
  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel when matters exceed small claims jurisdiction or require additional legal support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in claims management, dispute resolution, litigation support, legal operations, risk management, insurance claims, or related business operations.
  • Experience investigating and resolving commercial claims or disputes.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience representing a business in small claims proceedings where legally authorized.
  • Manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or freight claims experience.
  • Experience working with commercial contracts, chargebacks, warranty claims, or financial recoveries.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms.
