Job description

We're looking for a detail-oriented Claims Investigator to support the fair, accurate, and timely resolution of general liability, property damage, and Injury claims across our convenience store and fuel station locations.
In this role, you'll conduct fact-based investigations, gather evidence, interview involved parties, and provide clear, well-documented findings that support claim decisions. This position partners closely with the Claims Manager and collaborates with internal teams, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and legal partners.

What You'll Do

  • Investigate general liability incidents such as slip/trip and falls or customer injuries
  • Investigate property damage claims involving customers or third-party vendors
  • Investigate carwash incidents involving customer vehicle damage
  • Collect evidence, review documentation, conduct interviews, and analyze surveillance footage
  • Evaluate facts to assess liability, identify root cause, and flag potential fraud or negligence
  • Prepare clear, professional investigative reports for claim evaluation and litigation support
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the claims management system
  • Communicate findings, concerns, and red flags to the General Liability Claims Manager
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, TPAs, legal counsel, and store-level teams
  • Assist with customer outreach or follow-up as needed
Requirements
What You Bring
  • 2+ years of investigative experience in law enforcement, private investigation, insurance claims, loss prevention, or risk management
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to assess liability objectively
  • Professional and confident communication style when interacting with claimants, store teams, and legal partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive or high-stress situations
  • Experience reviewing surveillance footage and working with DVR systems is a plus
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong track record of working effectively across teams
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay for this position is $25-$30 an hour DOE
