How to become a claims assistant?

Career: Claims Assistant

To become a claims assistant, you need to have at minimum a high school diploma or GED certificate. Some employers prefer you to have some postsecondary training in subjects such as finance, accounting, statistics, or math. As an assistant, you gain the requisite experience to move up in the industry. You should have excellent observational skills; a great eye for detail; and the ability to process, review, and log complex forms for indemnity and other industry practices. Strong verbal and written communication is important, as is analytical and critical problem-solving, statistical knowledge, and the ability to take directions.
