Position Summary
The CIS Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and support of BGE's Microsoft cloud and endpoint environments. This role serves as an escalation point from analysts, owns assigned platforms, and ensures secure, reliable, and well-documented operations across Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure. The CIS Administrator is expected to work independently on most tasks, partner closely with security and infrastructure peers, and contribute to continuous improvement of BGE's IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Endpoint & Device Management (Microsoft Intune)
  • Administer Microsoft Intune for Windows endpoint device management and compliance
  • Administer JAMF Pro for MAC endpoint device management and compliance
  • Configure and maintain device configuration profiles, application deployments, and security baselines
  • Monitor device health and compliance, proactively remediating issues
  • Partner with security resources on endpoint security posture and incident remediation

Microsoft 365 & Identity Administration
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Manage user identities, access, group memberships, and conditional access policies
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex identity, authentication, and access-related issues

Microsoft Azure Administration
  • Perform administrative support across Azure subscriptions, resources, and services
  • Monitor Azure resource availability and support remediation of availability, performance, and configuration issues
  • Support integration between Azure services, identity systems, and applications

Operational Support & Escalation
  • Act as an escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 Service Desk tickets related to CIS-managed systems
  • Independently resolve the majority of common CIS-related incidents without supervision
  • Participate in security incident response activities in coordination with security analysts

Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures
  • Identify undocumented requirements or gaps encountered during implementation or remediation work
  • Contribute to operational improvements through automation, standardization, and process refinement

Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Mentor and guide junior team members on technical troubleshooting and platform usage
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers regarding timelines, risks, and system behavior
  • Support small or incremental initiatives aligned with BGE's broader IT strategy

Required Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud, infrastructure, or security-focused IT roles
  • Demonstrated experience administering:
  • Microsoft Intune (endpoint management, policies, application deployment)
  • Microsoft 365 tenant administration
  • Microsoft Azure (administrative experience)
  • Working knowledge of identity systems and endpoint management concepts
  • Ability to independently manage assigned systems and resolve common operational issues
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Microsoft-focused certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified credentials)
  • Experience working within a security-conscious or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with IT service management and ticket-based support environments
