INTERNSHIP TYPE:ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Internship - Bachelor's Levelย ย ย ย 

HOURS/SCHEDULE:ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  ย TBD, flexible 15-20 hours

PROGRAM/LOCATION:ย  ย  ย  ย  New Life Center, Putnam

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: NEW LIFE CENTER

CHR's New Life Center is a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment program designed to accommodate women with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders who have infants, toddlers under the age of 4yo and/or expectant mothers.ย  Children reside in the facility with their Mothers in order to promote a healthy parental bond with the focus of developing effective parenting skills.ย  Estimated length of stay is 4-6 months with the goal of preparing for a healthy and safe substance free lifestyle.ย  DCF involved Mothers welcomed.ย  Mothers and infants receive medical care at Day Kimball Hospital.ย 

PROGRAM OUTLINE:

By participating as a Bachelor's Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to clinical mental health & substance abuse evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, working on independent living skills, outreach treatment services and medication evaluation and monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be enrolled in a bachelorโ€™s degree program in mental health field.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driverโ€™s license
