Job description

POSITION TITLE:

Part-Time Assistant Teacher – Little Oracles Childcare Center

Wage: $14.00 per hour

Hours:

Shift 1: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Shift 2: Monday through Friday, 11:45 AM – 5:15 PM


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Part-Time Assistant Teacher at Little Oracles Childcare Center assists lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. Assistant Teachers support classroom routines, supervise children, and help maintain a positive atmosphere that promotes children’s growth and development.


REPORTS TO:

The Part-Time Assistant Teacher reports directly to the Childcare Director.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous childcare or preschool experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with young children and staff
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding children and families
  • Ability to pass required background checks, physical, TB test, and drug screening
  • Meet all state licensing and Paths to Quality requirement


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Assist lead teachers with classroom activities and daily routines.
  2. Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
  3. Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive interactions.
  4. Assist with meals, snacks, nap time, restroom routines, and playground supervision.
  5. Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
  6. Prepare classroom materials and assist with learning centers and activities.
  7. Use positive behavior support strategies and reinforce classroom expectations.
  8. Assist with student arrival, departure, and transition routines.
  9. Follow all center policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
  10. Communicate effectively with staff regarding classroom needs and student concerns.
  11. Participate in required trainings and staff meetings as assigned.
  12. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program operations.
  13. Complete additional duties as assigned by administration.
