CENTRAL TITLE DIVISION
Job Description:
Old Republic National Title Insurance Company seeks a Junior National Commercial Underwriter in its national commercial office in Chicago. In this role, you will underwrite title insurance policy coverages for commercial real estate transactions. Assist national commercial escrow officers in closing transactions and negotiate policy coverage and endorsement coverage in connection with the issuance of owner's and loan title insurance policies. You will also serve as a resource for salespeople and their clients when they have title insurance and/or real estate questions.
To be successful, you will need to have
  • JD required
  • Entry level experience underwriting and closing single and multi-site commercial transactions for properties located nationwide.
  • Ability to understand endorsement and policy coverages and to negotiate these coverages with principals and their attorneys.
  • Have a working knowledge of State-by-State title insurance guidelines and real estate practices to include endorsement availability, policy availability, transfer tax, mortgage tax and forms of conveyance.
  • Possess the ability to work on several transactions at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have outstanding customer service skills as well as a willingness and ability to work with a team of people in a professional and collegial manner.

The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.
Position's Pay Range:
$90,000 - $110,000/annually
